Audi will run four R8 LMS endurance racers at next month’s Nurburgring 24-hour race, the company has announced.
The 500+bhp, FIA GT3-class Audi R8 LMS cars will be run by Team ABT Sportsline and Team Phoenix racing.
Endurance stars such as Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro and Hans-Joachim Stuck have been brought in to drive the cars, as well as DTM touring car aces Mattias Ekstrom and Timo Scheider.
The Nurburgring race is effectively a final test run for the Audi R8 LMS before is goes on general sale to customer race teams from this autumn.
The Nurburgring 24 hours runs on 23-24 May.
