Luxurious drop top gets more power and style

Bentley is to launch a new more powerful, more expensive and more exclusive version of the Azure convertible, at the Los Angeles motor show.

The Bentley Azure T will use a twin-turbocharged version of the company’s familiar 6.75-litre V8 engine, producing 500bhp and 738lb ft of torque. That’s 50bhp and 93lb ft more than the standard Azure.

Bentley claim it will reach 0-60mph in 5.2sec and go on to a top speed of 179mph, despite a hefty 3065kg kerbweight. The Azure T will get tinted upper and lower grilles, 20-inch alloy wheels and twin exhaust tail pipes.

Bentley expects the Bentley Azure T to appeal to the Middle East market, but is yet to release a price for the more powerful four-seater Azure convertible. Customers will be expected to pay a substantial premium over the £225,900 standard Azure.

Re: Bentley Azure T for LA show

3056kg?!? Not far off needing an LGV license!
