Company boss Ron Dennis rules out diversification; one-make race series possible

McLaren boss Ron Dennis has ruled out the new car company diversifying from making sports cars.

Dennis admitted that two new cars are currently under development to join the new MP4-12C. They are thought to be a 911 rival and an F1 replacement.

However he denied that saloons, SUVs or other varients are being planned.

"We intend to have a diverse product range but they will all have two seats," he said. "This is our heritage - we are sportscar makers and the engine will be in the back of all our cars."

However, Dennis did admit that a racing version of the new new MP4-12C could appear.

"We will provide a service for customers who want to race the car but thoughts of a single make series are very premature," he told Autocar.
