Volkswagen's range expansion could include an estate version of its Passat CC, according to sources in Germany.
Since the next-generation Passat will not be sold in the US - and its replacement, the New Midsize Sedan, will not offer an estate variant - a CC wagon would fill a useful niche in a region where it is proving a sales hit.
VW's board is expected to vote in September on whether to build the car.

Re: VW Passat CC estate 'planned'
I have often been puzzled why Americans don't go for estates. They seem to love the practicality of their pickups and SUVs but also snap up very impractical saloons. Surely an estate is the ideal compromise between the two. You could even have a V8 version to make it acceptable.
Re: VW Passat CC estate 'planned'
The CC is selling well (I've even seen some around here where if it's not a truck and/or a V8 then it's a communist's car), but estates really don't sell well over here. I've seen one Passat estate in the last year over here. It's unfortunate, as I like estates!
