Re: VW Polo racer shown off
Volkswagen Motorsport used a 130bhp diesel in the Turkish VW Polo Ladies Cup using the last-generation cars, and not the 150bhp petrol versions as seen in the German championship. The website (http://www.polocup.in/index.aspx) says that it's a 120bhp unit... There was a 180bhp last-generation Polo, too! The Polo GTI Cup Edition was based on the GTI, but had 30bhp more and a body kit to resemble the Cup cars.
Re: VW Polo racer shown off
Wonder why they haven't used the three-door bodyshell for a race car, wouldnt it be a bit lighter?
Re: VW Polo racer shown off
Interesting choice of engine. I would have thought the 1.4 TSI 180PS as found in the Ibiza Cupra and rumored to be the engine for the forthcoming Polo GTI would have been a better choice. With a remap the little twincharger can push 200bhp+
