The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is the latest in an illustrious history of front-engine supercars from Ferrari.
The F12 is also the fastest and most powerful road-going model ever produced by the Maranello marque. Thanks to 730bhp – 119bhp more than the focused 599 GTB – the F12 will launch to 62mph in just 3.1sec and go on to a top speed of ‘over 211mph’.
Looking back through the Prancing Horse’s impressive archive, other front-engined models of note include the Ferrari 250. It was the marque’s most successful early supercar (built between 1953 and 1964), which spawned one of the most successful racing variants in Ferrari’s history; the 250 Testa Rossa. The 250 GTO is another highlight of which only 36 were ever made.
More contemporary front-engined Ferrari’s include the 612 Scaglietti from 2004, the 599 GTB (replaced by the F12), the 1996 550 Maranello and more recently still, the V8-powered California and 6.3-litre V12 FF model, which took the crown as Ferrari's first production four-wheel drive model.

Thanks for your feedback on this. You're correct in pointing out that this isn't an extensive gallery, and I've updated the copy to reflect it.
