Among the star cars were the Jaguar E-type, Bugatti Veyron, Ariel Atom V8 (piloted by Autocar’s very own Matt Prior), Lexus LFA, Sinsheim’s 47-litre Brutus and a fire-breathing Packard Bentley. Autocar's Steve Cropley also took to the track in his own non-V8 Ariel Atom.

Also on offer for the 70,000-strong crowds were military combat displays, powerboats and hovercrafts, Sir Stirling Moss’s 1961 winning F1 Lotus racer and the only collection of 4x4 Formula 1 racing cars.
