BMW's Olympic special editions get 18-inch alloys and M Sport suspension

BMW has revealed special edition versions of its BMW 1 and 3-series models.

Designed to commemorate its sponsorship of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the new ‘Performance Edition’ models are available in a choice of four colours - Alpine White, Titanium Silver, Bluewater and Black Sapphire.

The styling pack includes dark chrome 18-inch alloys, high-gloss Shadowline trim, dark rear lights and London 2012 badges.

Inside, the special editions add sports seats with Royal Blue stitching, an M Sport steering wheel and gearlever. Mechanically, the cars feature M Sport suspension.

Performance Edition packs are available on the 116i, 116d and 118d three and five-door models, with prices starting from £19,530 – a £1500 premium over the entry-level ES version.

For the BMW 3-series Performance Edition, prices start from £23,195, a premium of £500 over the ES saloon.
