New dual-clutch gearbox could be sold in the Laguna and Clio in future

Renault's new dual-clutch gearbox could be sold in the Laguna and Clio in future, according to a company source.

The unit, which was engineered for and is currently only available in the Megane, is around 20kg heavier than a regular manual unit.

A company source told Autocar that the unit could slot into the Laguna and that it's also small enough to squeeze into the Clio.

The unit could also be used in Renaultsport Meganes, the source added, but cautioned that this will take "a couple of years."
