Two LPG powered Ford Focus STs will race in this year's British Touring Car Championship.
The cars will be run by the race-winning Arena Motorsport team and driven by race winners Tom Onslow-Cole and Tom Chilton.
The team scored three podium finishes running the cars with conventional petrol engines last season.
It made the decision to switch to LPG following a series of back-to-back tests of the petrol and LPG cars at Guadix in Spain.
"We're looking forward to the season with the Calor-powered Focus," said Earle.

Re: Ford Focus LPG racers join BTCC
Not so much too dear as unavailable. Last I heard there was less than a handful (i.e. 3) of hydrogen filling stations. Now I guess BOC or whoever can deliver, but it isn't massively practical.
I'm sure I remember Volvo or someone doing this in the past. LPG has a higher octane than petrol, so can run tighter timing and compression without knocking. My guess is that they can simply get more power out of LPG than petrol now.

Is Hydrogen too dear then?
