The tradition of writing “wash me” on dirty cars has inspired the release of a new book from Mini as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
The book, called Wash Me, features pictures of 10 weird and wacky Minis designed by 10 artists, which have all been inspired by everyday situations.

None of the 10 artists involved have ever worked on a car before, with designs including cows, flowers, graffiti and minimalism.
Mini has a history of working with artists on historical and cultural projects, and some of its redesigned cars make up a permanent exhibition at the Ludlow 38 exhibition in New York.
The book is being published in Switzerland and will be limited to just 2000 copies. It should be on sale later this month.
