A unique Ferrari 599 has sold at a charity auction in China for 1.2million euro (£1.075m).
An anonymous Shanghai bidder paid the sum for the Ferrari 599 China at the end of Gala dinner organised by Ferrari at the Red Gate Gallery in Beijing, which had been organised to raise funds for young Chinese engineers.

The money raised for the sale will be used to allow students from Tsinghua University’s Department of Automotive Engineering to study at Italy’s Politecnico di Milano University and undertake internships at Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters.
The Ferrari 599 China was designed by Chinese artist Lu Hao, using Ge Liln porcelain of the Song Dynasty as his inspiration. Only a few hundred pieces of Ge Kiln porcelain exist today, all of which are priceless treasures.

Other special features include a Jade start button and a gold-coloured rev counter with ancient Chinese script Xiao Zhuan.
Ferrari is trying to boost its presence in China and expects the country to become one of its top five global markets within the next five years.
The US is expected to remain as the firm’s biggest market, but sales in China are likely to reach around 600 units per year, which is the volumes currently sold in Germany and Italy.
It has recently launched another special edition model in China, the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE China Limited Edition.
