Hyundai is bringing igs baby city car, the Amica, back to the British market after a three-year absence.
The car has been restyled for its reintroduction to the UK - its roofline is lower to improve balance and aerodynamics - but some of the biggest changes are under the bonnet, where a new engine has been used to comply with Euro IV emissions standards. The 12-valve, 1.1-litre unit produces 62bhp (up by 7bhp on the old model), but the Amica still takes a relatively pedestrian 15.2sec to reach 62mph and peaks at 90mph.
Hyundai is selling the car on ease of use and its economy - 52.3mpg Combined - in addition to its five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. Two model specifications are available - the GSI gets power steering, driver's airbag, ABS, front electric windows and a CD player. The CDX, which costs £500 more, adds keyless entry, remote central locking, front fog lamps, alloy wheels and air conditioning to the package.
