X5 range topper gets power boost in May

BMW has crowned its newly facelifted X5 line-up with this 4.8iS. On UK sale next May, the £58k model runs a new 4.8-litre version of BMW’s Valvetronic-equipped V8. Developed in-house, the 32-valve unit delivers a solid 355bhp – 13bhp more than the Alpina-built 4.6-litre V8 it replaces. The car also gets the new ZF seven-speed auto transmission and BMW’s new xDrive system.
BMW claims 0-62mph in around 6.0sec, 1.2sec quicker than Porsche’s Cayenne S.
