Nissan has revealed its new Townpod concept at the Paris motor show. The firm claims it mixes elements of both car and light commercial vehicle and is aimed at entrepreneurs who work from home.
The all-electric concept’s styling draws heavily from Nissan leaf EV hatchback. Like the Leaf, one of its charging points is hidden away in the nose; other design features include a Cube-style tinted glasshouse and its van-like split rear dears to boost access.

The versatile interior is described by Nissan as “utilitarian but stylish”. The steering wheel is futuristic, while the flowing dashboard doesn’t feature the usual array of switches; the only conventional controls are sticks for the lights and wipers.
All the Townpod’s key information is shown on two centrally mounted display screens, including the climate control settings and controls for the audio system. Checks on the car can also be carried out using the screens.
The rear seats can be folded flat and pressed against those in the front to increase load capacity.
No information has been released about its electric drivetrain, but it is almost certain to be identical to the one found in the Leaf.
