Goodwood officially launched its summer motorsport season today at Lord March's Sussex estate. Autocar was there to capture all the action on the hill, including the runs of the ultra-modern Lexus LFA, Derek Bell's McLaren F1 GTR racer and the rare Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Spider.
Other cars which ran up Goodwood's famous hillclimb in front of Goodwood House included a Group B Audi Quattro rally car, the Caparo T1 road-going racer and a classic Lola T290, which was driven by Anthony Reid. Other famous drivers in attendance today included Richard Attwood.

For the first time this year, Goodwood will be running its own motor show to compliment the traditional Festival of Speed. This has been dubbed the Moving Motor Show and will allow customers to sample cars from almost all major manufacturers operating in the UK.
The Moving Motor Show takes place on Thursday 1 July and will be followed for the next three days by this year's installment of the Festival of Speed, where Alfa Romeo's centenary celebrations will take centre stage. Goodwood is promising more debuts than ever and will expand the ever-popular Supercar Run to cater for increased demand from the public to see exotic road cars in action.
These events will be followed by the Goodwood Revival meeting on 17-19 September, an event which celebrates historic cars from motorsport at Goodwood's on-site racing circuit.
