The Ford Mustang has been voted the “hottest car” for the second time at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The show, which opened yesterday, is the world’s largest tuner car show, and showcases a vast range of manufacturer-backed and aftermarket creations.
The Scion FR-S, the sister car to the Toyota GT86, was rated as “hottest sport compact” and the Jeep Wrangler as “hottest SUV”. The awards recognises models that the tuning industry sees as the best platforms for customisation.
According to Ford, more Mustangs and F-150s – the model voted as the show’s “hottest truck” – are on display at the Las Vegas Convention Centre than any other model.
Major car makers have increasingly been endorsing products at the SEMA Show, which is organised by the Specialty Equipment Market Association. This year sees the world debut of the 2014 Honda Civic, as well as officially-endorsed models from Mazda, Toyota, Chrysler and Hyundai.
