The Citroën DS 5LS, a new premium saloon for China, has been previewed ahead of its official reveal.
A single photo of the car appeared on Citroën's Facebook page accompanied by the caption: "On 19 December a new DS premium-class sedan will be revealed: DS 5LS. Save the date."
The DS 5LS is a new saloon destined for the Chinese market. It is likely to be based on the DS 4 hatchback.
Although China is the only market where the DS brand is marketed seperately from Citroën, the DS 5LS could be sold in markets including Europe, should it be well received.
The saloon is one of three DS models Citroën is planning for the Chinese market. Along with the DS 5LS, it also plans to introduce a large SUV inspired by the DS Wild Rubis concept and a larger saloon that takes inpiration from both the 2010 Citroën Metropolis concept and the Numero 9 concept from 2012.
China has overtaken France as Citroën's largest market, something which has been partly down to the introduction of locally built DS models.
