Official pictures of the new 2015 Subaru Legacy have leaked online ahead of the car's world debut at the Chicago motor show later this week.
The new car, previewed by the Legacy concept at the LA motor show in November, will be made as a saloon only - and Subaru has confirmed it will not be sold in the UK.
The production Legacy has retained elements of the concept's sleek front-end design, including its hexagonal grille and lower airdam. Subaru says the new car "offers enhanced drivability and functionality while achieving a design required for a flagship model with a quality feel".
The Legacy concept was intended to show a modern interpretation of the model, which turns 25 this year, and provided a thinly veiled look at both the upcoming production version and Subaru's future design direction - which is to be rolled out onto other models.
While the UK market won't get the Legacy, a production version of the Subaru Levorg sports tourer concept from Tokyo is however currently under consideration for Europe. The Levorg has already been confirmed for the Japanese market.

What a shame
Looks like it has been styled primarily for the US compact sedan market. The competition includes Toyota Camrys and Honda Accords, not exactly exciting looking cars themselves.
Oh well, another opportunity missed by Subaru. I'm looking forward to my new Mazda6.
Clutching defeat from the jaws of victory...
Oh dear, its an awkard
