Kia's K4 concept car has made its world debut at the Beijing motor show.
Developed specifically for the Chinese market, the K4 concept has what Kia describes as a "simple, distinctive and dignified" design.
Alongside large, distinctive alloy wheels the saloon features a prominent central grille with substantial front headlight clusters. The concept measures 4.72 metres long and is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged GDI engine coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
With a wheelbase of 2700mm, Kia says the K4 will offer "outstanding" interior space for its passengers. The K4 features keyless start, a rear-view camera and the firm's latest 'UVO' infotainment system.
The Korean manufacturer has already confirmed the K4 will go into production in the second half of 2014, and it will be on sale in China soon after. Kia says it is aiming to appeal to family-oriented customers.
"We are confident that the production version of the mid-size K4 family sedan will set a whole new standard for its class in China," said vice president of the firm's Overseas Marketing Group Soon-Nam Lee.
