New 335bhp SQ5 TDI Plus model boosts performance, and will top the Q5 range

Audi is to launch an SQ5 TDI Plus version of its Audi SQ5 four-wheel-drive SUV, with more power, extra equipment and a new sports differential.

The new model's power increases by 26bhp and 37lb ft, taking overall figures to 335bhp and 516lb ft respectively.

The biturbo 3.0-litre TDI V6 will propel the new car from 0-62mph in 5.1sec (down from the standard SQ5’s 5.2) while its top speed will be electronically limited to 155mph.

Despite the power increase, fuel economy and CO2 emissions remain the same as the standard car at 42.8mpg and 174g/km respectively.

A sports differential is now fitted to the rear axle, actively distributing power between the wheels for even better traction.

The SQ5 TDI Plus also gets gloss black detailing to its 21in twin spoke alloy wheels, door mirror housings, door handles, rear spoiler and diffuser.

In the cabin, the Plus trim adds diamond stitched nappa leather seats with a sliding rear bench for added flexibility.

The new model will go on sale alongside the existing SQ5 later this year. A UK price has yet to be confirmed, but expect it to be slightly higher than the standard SQ5’s £44,780.
