German tuner Piecha has revealed its tuned version of the Mercedes-AMG GT S.
The Rottweil-based firm has just unveiled its GT-RSR, which drenches the standard sports car with cosmetic and aerodynamic upgrades and boosts engine power from 503bhp to 604bhp. That extra muscle is accompanied by a thumping 620lb ft of torque, up from 479lb ft as standard.
The result, according to Piecha, enables a 0-62mph time of 3.7sec, down from 3.8sec in the regular GT S, and a top speed of 205mph, up from 193mph.
Visually, the GT-RSR gains carbonfibre fins, which Piecha calls “air wings”, on the front apron. Side sills and a rear diffuser, all hewn from carbonfibre, also add to the more aggressive look. The sills have downward-facing LED lights that shine when the doors are opened. A wide, rigid carbonfibre rear spoiler has been added, too, although the retractable factory unit remains underneath it.
Tech upgrades include Piecha’s own coil-over suspension and Yokohama Advan Sport V105 tyres – 275/35 ZR19s at the front and 305/30 ZR20s at the back.
The extra power comes from a software upgrade in the form of an extra ECU that Piecha installs alongside the original software box from Mercedes-AMG. The factory exhaust system also remains, although Piecha has added round 90mm tips to replace the factory's trapezoidal pipes.
