Production at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull and Castle Bromwich factories has been temporarily suspended due to a water supply problem.
Those on night shifts at the car maker’s factories were sent home due to a lack of water caused by burst pipes off-site, a result of the recent cold weather.

Severn Trent, which supplies water to the region, told the BBC that there had been a 4000% increase in the number of burst pipes reported. Water has now been restored to the Jaguar Land Rover plant.
A spokesperson for Jaguar Land Rover told Autocar that the factory is due to start up again imminently, once safety checks and other measures are completed.
The water supply issues haven’t just affected Jaguar Land Rover: production has also been hit at the Cadbury’s plant in Bournville, and homes across the Birmingham and Solihull region have been left without water.
