The British Touring Car Championship will make two visits to the high-speed Thruxton circuit next year, while Rockingham has been dropped from the calendar.
Britain’s top motorsport championship has released its 10-round 2019 calendar, with the event at Rockingham in Northamptonshire dropped “as the possible impending sale of the facility didn’t provide [BTCC organiser] TOCA with sufficient clarity at the time of finalising the calendar”.

Thruxton has been given Rockingham’s spot on the calendar in August, alongside the Hampshire speed bowl’s existing May event. Brands Hatch, which will again host the first and last events of the season on 7 April and 13 October, is the only other circuit to host two race weekends.

The only other tweak to the calendar is the Croft and Oulton Park events in June changing order.
The BTCC first visited Rockingham in 2003, with the circuit returning to the calendar in 2007. It has held a race every year since then, with this year’s event scheduled for 12 August.

Would have loved to see them add some new circuits, particularly the awesome Anglesey circuit.
