When it comes to balancing family life and musical ambitions, Skoda has the note-perfect answer with two spacious and versatile SUVs

Meet Louisa. She’s driven by a passion for music – whether teaching, recording in the studio, or performing with her band The Spitfire Sisters. She’s also got a growing family, with kids Freddie and Poppy and husband Patrick.

That’s why Louisa needs cars that can stay in tune with her hectic fast-paced schedule – and it’s why the Skoda Karoq and the seven-seat Skoda Kodiaq are pitch-perfect for Louisa’s needs.

The stylish Karoq is a family-friendly SUV with a spacious interior and highly adaptable VarioFlex seating that flexes to match busy lifestyles and growing families. And, when Louisa’s band and family need even more space, the incredibly spacious seven-seat Skoda Kodiaq is always on hand.

The Skoda Karoq: intelligent space

As the ever-growing popularity of SUVs shows, they’re perfect for busy active lives – and the Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq have both been designed to fit the needs of fast-paced ever-evolving lifestyles, as well as growing families.

Their head-turning sleek looks belie their capacious ability to pack in more people or carry more luggage, while stylish premium interiors and a commanding driving position give you added confidence and comfort on the road. The Karoq and Kodiaq are also packed with simple-to-use technology that keeps you entertained and connected, as well as clever little problem-solving solutions that make everyday life easier.

The Karoq, in particular, is all about intelligent use of space, with an innovative VarioFlex system (available on selected trims) that lets you quickly and easily fold each of the three second-row seats individually – or even remove them completely. Perfect, whether you want to pack long loads while still carrying two rear passengers, or are looking to use every millimetre of the Karoq’s maximum 1,810-litre capacity.

It’s just one of the reasons why the Karoq received a four-star review from Autocar, and a five-star review from What Car? – as well as being named the What Car? Family SUV Best Buy for £18,000-£30,000 in the 2019 Car Of The Year Awards.

The Skoda Kodiaq: seating for seven

The Kodiaq offers a different choice – a five-seat layout with 2,065 litres of space (with the rear seats down), or a seven-seat layout if you regularly carry more people. The Kodiaq also has features that help keep your passengers comfortable, even when every seat is occupied – including tri-zone climate control and digital voice enhancement that makes it easier to talk from the front seats to the third-row.

Skoda's mid-sized SUV is smaller than some but goes big on practicality features and still offers both diesel engines and mechanical all-wheel drive

When it comes to getting the most of the Karoq and Kodiaq’s spacious interiors, both models make loading easy. In addition to a tall and wide rear boot frame – perfect for even the largest items – both models offer hands-free remote boot opening that can be operated with a simple wave of your foot.

It’s clever solutions such as these that earned the Kodiaq a four-star review from both Autocar and What Car?.

Packed with style and technology

Both the Karoq and Kodiaq are available a choice of feature-packed trims, as well as fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines and drivetrains that let you customise your Skoda SUV to your needs – including a seven-speed DSG automatic for a more relaxed driving experience, as well as four-wheel drive with a simple-to-use Drive Mode Select if you need to head off-road.

There are plenty of other areas of common ground between the Karoq and Kodiaq. Both feature premium, high-tech features – such as the optional panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital virtual dashboard display and interior LED ambient lighting – that add an extra degree of style and luxury to every trip.

Both are also packed with thoughtful little features – such as the easy-access umbrella, the handy ice scraper inside the fuel filler cap, and the light inside the rear boot, which detaches to become a torch. And that’s not where the clever ends. Driver assistance technology, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Blind Spot Detect and Rear Traffic Alert makes driving easier and keeps you safer on the road.

Finally, both the Karoq and Kodiaq also come with Skoda Connect. By plugging in selected Apple and Android smartphones using SmartLink+, it lets you use voice control and apps for music, phone calls and navigation apps on the standard touchscreen. Alternatively, you can pick the powerful Columbus satellite-navigation with a 9.2-inch touchscreen and integrated Wi-Fi. You can even choose a premium Canton Sound System, if you’re a music lover – just like Louisa.
