The Bentley Continental Supersports has been revealed, which is the company's fastest accelerating model yet, achieving 0-60mph in 3.4sec.
It will be a final swansong to the current second-generation Continental GT, which launched in 2011, ahead of an all-new version arriving in 2018.
With a top speed of 209mph, it is also the most powerful Bentley yet, with 700bhp on tap and 750lb ft between 2050 and 4500rpm.
By comparison, rival, the new Aston Martin DB11, hits 62mph in 3.9secs (approximately 3.8secs for 0-60mph) with a top speed of 200mph.
Sitting alongside the coupe-bodied Supersports is the new Continental Supersports Convertible, which accelerates from 0-60mph in 3.7secs and hits a top speed of 205mph.
Bentley claims the two cars are the fastest four-seat and four-seat convertible cars in the world.
The car maker has redeveloped its W12 engine for the Supersports, giving the model higher-capacity turbochargers and a revised air-cooling system to create more boost - the result is an increase of 125bhp over the standard W12-powered Continental GT.
These revisions also mean an increase of 79bhp and 160lb ft over the 2009 Supersports model, a 10% power-to-weight improvement. Top speed has risen by 5mph and 0-60mph by 0.2secs.
It's also faster than both the hardcore GT3-R, launched in 2014, and the 635bhp Continental GT Speed.
The new Supersports variants use an updated torque converter, which, Bentley claims, locks up faster, optimising the abilities of the torque.
