Mercedes tuner fits a twin-turbo 6.3-litre V12 under the E-class coupe's bonnet

Brabus has a launched a 789bhp V12 version of the Mercedes E-class coupe.

The 6.3-litre twin-turbo V12 unit also produces 1047lb ft of torque. It propels the car from 0-62mph in just 3.7sec and on to a top speed of more than 230mph.

As well as fitting the V12 engine under the bonnet, Brabus has also made a range of exterior and interior styling changes to the E-class coupe.

It has fitted a new coil-over suspension system, new upgraded brakes, carbonfibre body panels and 19-inch wheels. Other additions include a new front grille, front and rear bumpers, front and rear spoilers, a rear diffuser, an air intake system and flared wheel arches.

Inside, Brabus has lightweight leather seats, a new sports steering wheel and carbonfibre trim on the dashboard, centre console and doors.

The Brabus E V12 Coupe will cost from 478,000 euro (£433,885).

people who are in a position to buy and run a car like this are rarely affected by such trivialities as recession - unless of course they had all their monies in Icelandic banks.
